Beyonce Unveils Scenic Music Video For 'Lion King' Song 'Spirit'

Beyoncé unleashes her pride in the official music video for her song "Spirit."

A week after releasing her anthem for the upcoming live-action Lion King remake, the songbird has returned with a scenic visual to pair with the track's spiritual tone. "Spirit" not only appears on the motion picture soundtrack, but on Beyoncé's own companion album, The Lion King: The Gift, which features Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, 070 Shake, Tierra Whack, Pharrell, and more. The four-and-a-half-minute clip finds Queen Bey in the motherland, joined by her daughter Blue Ivy, who makes a lovely cameo wearing a lavender gown like her mommy. In several other picturesque shots, Beyoncé appears in a mesmerizing array of colorful outfits as she accompanies her troupe for a celebration of dance and life.

The artist, who voices the character Nala in the new Disney adaptation, expressed the project as "a love letter to Africa."

"I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa, and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa," the 37-year-old singer told ABC News in an interview this week.

"A lot of the drums, the chants... all of these incredible new sounds mixed with some of the producers from America," she added. "We've kind of created our own genre and I feel like the soundtrack becomes visual in your mind, it's a soundscape. It's more than just the music because each song tells the story of the film."

The Lion King: The Gift releases on the film's opening day, Friday (July 19).
