Jennifer Aniston Sets Guinness World Record With Instagram Debut

Variety's 2019 Power Of Women: Los Angeles Presented By Lifetime - Arrivals

Jennifer Aniston just broke the internet — and a Guinness World Record — with her Instagram debut!

On Tuesday (October 15), the actress made history for becoming the fastest user to reach one million followers on the photo- and video-sharing app. According to PEOPLE, Aniston set the record in just five hours and 16 minutes, besting the Guinness World Records title previously held by royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who gained one million followers in five hours and 45 minutes in their IG debut in April.

What's more, with the increasing interest in fans wanting to follow her, Aniston's page temporarily crashed and had returned a message that read, "Sorry, this page isn't available." Speaking on the momentary glitch, an Instagram rep told PEOPLE: “We are aware that some people are having issues following Jen’s page — the volume of interest is incredible! We are actively working on a solution and hope to have the page up and running smoothly again shortly.”

Aniston, who's already getting the hang of IG, even quipped about her impact in a hilarious follow-up video. "I swear I didn’t mean to break it... Thank you guys for the kind, glitchy welcome."

Aside from her record-breaking debut, the 50-year-old's first post also made a surprising splash when she reunited with her Friends costars to celebrate her very first selfie. "And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM," Aniston captioned a group shot alongside former castmates Lisa KudrowCourteney CoxMatthew PerryDavid Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.
