Prince Philip, 99, Taken To London Hospital

On Wednesday (February 17), Buckingham Palace released a statement about Prince Philip's health after he was taken to a London hospital. The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to the hospital as a precaution after he complained of "feeling unwell." He is 99-years-old.

"His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh was admitted to the King Edward VII Hospital in London, on Tuesday evening," the Palace's statement reads. "The Duke's admission is a precautionary measure, on the advice of His Royal Highness's Doctor, after feeling unwell."

No other details about Prince Philip's illness have been revealed. The Palace says Queen Elizabeth's husband is "expected to remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest."
Prince Philip has been retired from his official royal duties since 2017. After retiring from public life at the age of 95, he has only been seen in a public a handful of times, including at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 2018 wedding.
