Ariana Grande and Bowen Yang shared a memorable moment during her time hosting Saturday Night Live last month, and it seems to have had made a lasting impression on them both.
The "Thank U Next" singer appeared on the November 6 episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, hosted by comedian Matt Rogers and SNL standout Bowen Yang, where she and Yang reflected on the passionate kiss they shared in a sketch on the October 12 episode that saw Yang portraying the boyfriend of Grande's son and how they got a bit too exciting while playing charades.
Yang, who also stars alongside Grande in the upcoming Wicked movie, apologized to his friend for being "a little over eager" with the smooch, per E! News.
"I really have to apologize to you in person," he said. "I opened my mouth up too much when we kissed on SNL... I kissed you too much."
Grande quickly responded with a laugh, "You absolutely did. I was shaking after. Not in a bad way, just in a disarming way," leading Yang to apologize even more. However, Grande assured Yang, who she called her "literal best friend," that everything was all good between them.
"You know what, that's OK," she said. "We were dropped in, and it felt like what these people needed at that time. It felt like what these characters required. And I'm all for it."
The "We Can't Be Friends" hitmaker even revealed that the kiss was not originally in the script but rather an addition she and Yang thought would be "funny" for the sketch.
Elsewhere in their chat, Grande explained why her next career move will "scare the absolute s---" out of her fans.
On Las Culturistas, Rogers and Yang "get into the hottest pop-culture moments of the day" and even hang out with special guests like Mandy Moore, Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn and pop icon Mariah Carey, to name a few. Check out more episodes of the Las Culturistas podcast at iHeart.com.
