Costco has quietly ended its popular 'Costco Next' program, an online marketplace that gave members exclusive discounts on products from dozens of partner brands. As of late August 2026, shoppers visiting the Costco Next page on the retailer’s site were met with a message stating, "Access to Costco Next storefronts is no longer available" and the link was also disabled in the Costco app. No prior warning or official explanation was given for the abrupt shutdown.
The Costco Next service, launched in 2017, allowed members to purchase items directly from third-party vendors at discounts of up to 40 percent, featuring brands ranging from electronics and luggage to home goods. By 2024 and 2025, the program had grown to nearly 100 participating brands, including well-known names like Anker, Jacuzzi, Briggs & Riley, and Caraway, according to reporting by the New York Post.
Now, the Costco customer support site confirms, "Access to Costco Next store fronts is no longer available," and directs members to contact vendors directly for returns or warranty questions. The page lists contact information and return policies for dozens of affected vendors, such as Caraway, E-Z UP, Priority Bicycles, and others. Customers with eligible returns are now required to resolve issues with the suppliers themselves, rather than through Costco’s usual channels. This change was also confirmed by Costco's official customer service page.
The sudden move has surprised many customers and even some partner brands, as discussions on Costco’s Reddit forum revealed that vendors may not have received advance notice about the shutdown.
Costco has not provided any public statement explaining the decision to discontinue the program. The closure comes during a period of significant change for the retailer. For example, last month, Costco announced a new partnership with SCAN Group to begin offering store-branded Medicare plans as part of a limited rollout, a move to add value for senior shoppers.
