Ariana Grande seemingly has new music coming soon after previously expressing her desire to take a break to focus on musical theater.
While on the red carpet ahead of the 2025 Oscars on Sunday (March 2), Grande was asked about a deluxe edition of her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine being "in the can," per People. Though she didn't share many details about the expanded album, she told Variety that "the next step is... it means it must come out."
The Wicked star teased the project even further with a reference to the 2004 film Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, joking that her memories about the record and its future release were a little hazy.
"They did the Brighter Days Memory Erasure treatment to me so I'm having trouble remembering the details," she said. "They're foggy, because at the Brighter Days Clinic, they do the Memory Erasure."
Despite hedging that the details remain "a little foggy," Grande hinted that more information about the project will come out in the future, quipping, "I'll have to go back to the clinic and see if they can restore my memory."
Grande sidestepped further questions about the album coming "soon" — joking that she's "not allowed to use that word" because to her fans, "soon means 10 days or less" — instead simply telling fans to "just keep your eyes peeled" as "that's all I'm saying."
Grande's music news comes months after she talked about wanting to shift her focus on musical theater in a career move she admitted would "scare the absolute s---" out of her fans.
